Not a Bake Off fan? Nigella Lawson makes sly dig about Channel 4 baking show
NIGELLA LAWSON had a sly dig at The Great British Bake Off as she opened up about her new cook book At My Table: A Celebration Of Home Cooking in a brand new interview.
Nigella Lawson made a sly dig at GBBO
The 57-year-old - who has been looking better than ever recently - poked fun at the fact that GBBO contestants are told to make “identical” items, despite it not being that easy in reality.
Nigella told Good Housekeeping: “We live in a world where there is so much, so glossily done. If I am given a cake, I like to see that it has been made by someone and that it’s not even.
“That is what cooking is. Things can’t look like they come from a factory. You know on Bake Off where they say you have to make 18 biscuits and they have to be identical? I have never had two biscuits that look identical!”

Nigella also spoke out about her slimmed-down physique in the chat, with her saying that she “does yoga three times a week”.
She explained: “I have to do something I enjoy, otherwise I wouldn’t do it. The older I get the more I realise I have got to do lots of stretching. So even if I’m not doing yoga, I make myself do lots of stretching.”
Not ending the chat there, Nigella questioned the trend of Instagramable foods as well, with her saying: “I don’t think it matters if people aren’t photographing it (food). As long as people are cooking it at home, I don’t mind what they are doing with it on social media."

She went on: “I will sometimes do a brown stew because I can’t resist it and say, ‘Yes, it is brown.’ That is what a stew is! It’s a wonderful thing that lifts the spirit!
“The thing about a smoothie bowl is that it’s a nice picture, but I don’t know who eats smoothie bowls…Who?”
Nigella’s latest interview comes as she slammed some of the negative comments regarding her book and a “ham and cheese toast” recipe in particular, as she appeared on Chris Evans’ Radio 2 breakfast show on Friday.
Nigella’s full Good Housekeeping interview appears in the November issue, which is on sale September 27.
