ACTRESS Leah Bracknell has revealed the drug that she’s been taking has failed after she was diagnosed with terminal cancer back in October.

The 53-year-old - who played Emmerdale’s Zoe Tate for 16 years - has been keeping fans updated via a GoFundMe page which has been set up by her partner Jez Hughes.
In the latest update, Jez said that the medication “probably stopped working back in March,” but that they’ve been relying on alternative treatments since.
The message read: “We have found out the drug definitely isn’t working so she has been off this for a while we find out the next steps.
“We think it probably stopped working back in March or even before. So for the last five months she has been prospering solely on the alternative treatments.
“This is due to your incredible support as these aren’t cheap. So we are so grateful for the opportunity to keep Leah strong and well. We really believe it is working.”

Leah and Jez have managed to raise over £64,000 on the fundraising page so far and have constantly been inundated with well wishes.
Leah previously said of her battle with the illness: “As a direct result of the campaign and subsequent information people were giving us, I went for a second and third opinion, for treatment pathways and options.
"It’s been EYE OPENING. I am SO glad we did. I never even considered it was an option. And it has led to some really positive and unexpected news."
Despite being given a lifeline though, Leah admitted that she knows that it isn't a cure.

She explained in an emotional message at the end of last year: “I am grateful and thankful beyond belief and beyond words for this lifeline. That I had originally believed was not a viable option, so It is such a bright beacon of positivity and good fortune.
"It shows the prayers and good wishes I have received are working so far."
