Ross Blair gives update on his cancer treatment
The Waterloo Road and Doctors star took to Facebook yesterday as her spouse Ross Blair - son of former footballer Andy Blair - receives end-of-live care after being diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour back in 2014.
Holly, who rose to fame in Byker Grove, revealed her 32-year-old partner was now in a “deep sleep” and looked “peaceful”.
Revealing that she has been at the hospice for nearly a month, the television regular described Ross as “amazing” as he continues to “hold on”.
The poignant upload read: “His strong body is fighting for him and sadly at this stage it is kind of working against him.

What a f***ed up reality to be waiting for one of the people you love most to die
“We have all accepted that he will go… and we have no control over that. We were warned this bit can be prolonged and hard on the family and I have felt that.”
Holly went on: “What a f***ed up reality to be waiting for one of the people you love most in the whole world to die and even hoping that it will come soon.
“That is a weird space to be in, but a space that I and his family are living in. Grieving before they have gone, waiting for the last breath, half knowing it's best if it is, half relieved when it's not.”
Ross was diagnosed with a rare grade-4 primitive neuroectodermal tumour and previously responded well to treatment, however his health rapidly deteriorated follow a seizure in May.
Holly Matthews said after crying a lot she was trying to be productive

Holly said none of what was happening felt real and that she cried “a whole heap” but was now trying to focus on being “calm and productive”.
She added: “The support behind me is incredible and I feel every kind gesture and message. My beautiful daughters are doing great and I love them so much.
“Today I got my big girl pants firmly on and I'm going to deal with everything that comes. Thank you. Peace.”
She has set up a JustGiving page for the hospice, where it costs £9,000 per week for every patient.
