CORONATION STREET actors Rob Mallard and Daniel Brocklebank have split up following a brief romance, according to reports.

The pair started dating in May and even attended the British Soap Awards together last month.
However, a source has now revealed to The Sun that their relationship suffered with both stars working on Coronation Street.
"It was a lot of pressure for both of them to be working on the same show and going out," the insider claimed. "In the end something had to give."

The source did add though that they have remained good friends.
The news comes just a month after Rob, 25, who plays Daniel Osbourne on the long-running ITV soap, gave a cheeky shout out to his 37-year-old beau at the British Soap Awards in Manchester.
Scooping the gong for Best Newcomer, Rob said: "Even though this is fantastic, Dan, you're the best thing I've ever taken home."
Rob and Daniel, who plays vicar Billy Mayhew, first sparked rumours of their relationship back in May when they made their red carpet debut at the British LGBT Awards in London.

Rob previously confessed his fears about being given an on-screen girlfriend on Coronation Street
Rob previously admitted that he was concerned about being given an on-screen girlfriend before joining Coronation Street, confessing that he was worried that viewers would not believe his portrayal if they knew he was gay.
"I never planned to keep it quiet that I was gay," he said. "The only concern I had was, if I'm with a female character, will an audience who knows I'm gay in real life believe it?
"But that was just my fears because I do believe they will," he added.
