JUDY MURRAY may be mum to one of the most famous tennis player’s in the country but she has admitted that watching her son go on to be incredibly successful isn’t always as fun as it may seem.

The 57-year-old confessed that she had received a lot of criticism over the years and has even been publicly humiliated.
Reflecting on a time when she was asked to pick up a Scottish Sports Award for Andy, she told Good Housekeeping: “I was dreading going up, but Andy wasn’t in the country and it’s very rude if there’s no one to collect the award.
“The presenter actually said on stage: ‘Couldn’t he [Andy] have bought you something decent to wear?’”
Judy went on to reveal that she was so mortified by the incident that she would refuse to go to events or “I would sit in the loo with the door shut until they called everyone through”.

I was so embarrassed, I turned around and went straight home
That wasn’t the only time she has been left horrified as she recalled seeing a particularly harsh headline in a local newsagents.
“I was buying milk in my local shop when I saw a newsagent’s billboard saying ‘Boris Becker tells Andy to ditch his mum’,” she told the publication.
“I was so embarrassed, I turned around and went straight home. I thought, ‘People will think he knows what’s he’s talking about. She must be a nightmare.’”
She admitted that she thought nothing they did would be good enough if Andy didn't win Wimbledon
Judy confessed that she struggled with the demands of raising Andy and Jamie
The mother-of-two also confessed that she struggled with the pressure of raising two tennis stars.
“I felt that nothing we did would be good enough until Andy won Wimbledon,” Judy explained.
“It wasn’t going to matter that he had been the runner-up the year before or had won the Olympic title.”
