James Corden is practically perfect as Mary Poppins
JAMES Corden gave a traffic-stopping performance yesterday as the big screen’s most popular nanny.
The US Late Late Show star has come from Los Angeles to London to film his hit programme and donned a blue dress in a skit parodying Julie Andrews in Mary Poppins.
Corden, 38, starred alongside Sir Ben Kingsley, 73, who echoed Dick Van Dyke as chimney sweep Bert in the Disney classic.
They were spotted filming at the traffic lights at the Aldwych in central London.
James Corden shares heartfelt message to people of Manchester
It was like a repeat of the traffic light scene he filmed in LA for Beauty and the Beast.
Every time the lights went red he ran into the road and burst into song and starred in a routine alongside dancers to music from the popular musical.
But once the lights turned green they ran to safety. Rehearsals were taking place at nearby Somerset House.
Corden is spending time in London filming for the hit show. He also headed over to Knightsbridge for a spot of shopping in Harrods.
