Jamie Vardy and Rebekah on son's traumatic and emotional birth: 'The pain was so intense'
REBEKAH VARDY has admitted to nearly breaking husband Jamie's fingers during the traumatic birth of their son, Finley Jaiden, just weeks ago.
Jamie Vardy and his wife Rebekah have opened up about the birth of their son Finley
The couple welcomed their baby boy into the world on January 8, but the new addition's arrival went far from planned.
After an induction, Finley's head was so low that it was forming a plug across Rebekah’s cervix, which wouldn’t allow her waters to break or her cervix to dilate.
Speaking to the latest issue of OK! magazine, footballer Jamie, 30, and his spouse opened up about what happened after the emotional labour as they introduced him to the world.
"The pain of labour was so intense - I nearly broke Jamie’s fingers!" Rebekah commented, before Jamie added: "I felt like I needed two new titanium fingers!"

Finley shot out and then I couldn’t stop shaking.
Once Rebekah’s waters were finally broken by doctors, Finley soon made his arrival into the world.
She continued: "Finley shot out 20 minutes later and then I couldn’t stop shaking from the shock."
Rebekah revealed that tears were shed when she finally met her son: "Yes, we both did, and you don’t usually see any emotion from Jamie.
"It was all the raw emotion of what we’d been through and him seeing how much pain I was in," she said, to which her husband interjected: "I had a little cry."

Rebekah went on to say how an imbalance of sugar levels and jaundice meant that Finley had to be incubated for light therapy immediately.
"It was horrifying seeing them wheel this incubator into the room and knowing that Finley had to go in it with a mask over his eyes.
"The only time I could get him out was to feed. I was in for another two days and then they let me out on ward release again," she said.
Fortunately, Jamie confirmed: "He’s doing well, he’s feeding well and his jaundice levels have dropped."
Adding: "I’ve always wanted a baby boy – and he’s got my big feet! He’s amazing. During the day he’s chilled as hell, he just sleeps, but during the night it’s a different story. Luckily I’m a deep sleeper!"
