Chelsea Handler and Scarlett Johansson among celebs taking part in Women's March events
FAMOUS FACES such as Chelsea Handler, Scarlett Johansson and Lupita Nyong'o are set to join thousands attending Women's March events in Washington D.C., Los Angeles, London and over 700 "sister marches" in over 60 other countries across the world today.

The marches take place less than 24 hours after President Donald Trump's inauguration yesterday, and the Women's March website says they invite "individuals and organizations committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion and those who understand women's rights as human rights to joint our local coalitions of marchers in representing the right sand voices of progressive people around the world".
Over the past week, many celebrities have taken to social media to demonstrate their support and publicise the events.
Oscar Award-winning actress Lupita announced her attendance at the Women's March Washington when she uploaded the event poster to her Instagram on Thursday, captioning the picture: "Proud to move with the @womensmarch this January 21st, raising my voice for honestly, truth and compassion against injustice, lying and greed."

The Women's March on Washington has over 228,000 people marked as attending on the Facebook page.
Scarlett, Ashley Judd, Michael Moore and America Ferrera are among those giving speeches at the event's rally before the march, alongside Cecile Richards, president of the reproductive healthcare charity Planned Parenthood.
Among the big names attending Women's March Los Angeles are Jane Fonda, Alfre Woodard and Ariana Grande.

The sister event in London has been garnered social media support from the likes of QI presenter Sandi Toksvig, Charlotte Church, Pixie Geldof and Sir Ian McKellen.
It will begin outside the US embassy at midday and end at Trafalgar Square.

Women's March website states: "Women's March Global is a proactive international movement, not a U.S. election-specific protest per se, which has galvanized people to defend women's rights and those of others in response to the rising rhetoric or far-right populism around the world."
However, the appointment of the new President has been a catalyst for the rallies which emphasise unity and equality.
