The Hollywood heartthrob found himself suspended at the age of six after watching Rambo: First Blood, before taking numerous steak knives into school and proceeding to lob them at another child.
Speaking to this week's ES Magazine, the 35-year-old commented: "I saw Rambo raging against the machine and I identified with that at six or whatever the f*** I was."
The shocking incident led to Ryan's suspension and psychological assessment for ADHD - though he was never officially diagnosed - and he was homeschooled for a year.

The father-of-two said he grew up surrounded by females and he hopes the US will get a female president someday soon.
Ryan continued: "I think it needs a woman’s touch. I’ve always liked women more. I was brought up by my mother and older sister. I found my way into dance class. My home life now is mostly women. They are better than us. They make me better.
"They are stronger. More evolved. You can tell especially when you have daughters [Esmeralda, 18 months, and Amada] and you see their early stages, they are just leaps and bounds beyond boys."
