HE UNDERWENT a double hip operation last Wednesday and Eamonn Holmes proved he's well on the road to recovery by sharing a hospital snap on social media last night.
Eamonn Holmes shared hospital snap on social media
The 55-year-old TV presenter kept his 886,000 Twitter followers updated on his progress by uploading a photo of himself on crutches.
Unsurprisingly, Eamonn looked a little glum in the snap - in which he was wearing a comfy, T-shirt and trouser combo - as he stood in the hospital ward, aided by crutches.
Alongside the image - which has already gained 3,800 likes - he wrote: "On my feet ....sort of. I can only put the expression down to a mixture of drugs, pain and that late Chelsea goal."
Keen to stay cheerful, Eamonn - who had evidently just watched the Chelsea vs Manchester United football match - entertained his followers with another two tweets.

He wrote: "If I could stand that would have got me on my feet!" and then added: "After my Op I am sedated .... but please tell me I did not imagine that Jesse Lingard just scored a wonder goal v Chelsea!!"
Following his social media update, Eamonn spoke about his operation on This Morning earlier today via a phone link, where he was asked by show hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield how he was feeling.
Reassuring anyone who is going through a similar procedure, Eamonn explained: "For anyone who's got this [the surgery] ahead of them, these people know what they're doing."
He also informed viewers that the photo he uploaded to Twitter had gotten him into trouble with his physiotherapist.
Eamonn said: "My physio ticked me off for this because I'm not wearing shoes and I'm not using the crutches properly."
