'Amal is the smart one' George Clooney admits his wife has the brains in their marriage
HE MAY be one of the most in demand stars in Hollywood – and one of the best looking at that – but George Clooney has admitted wife Amal Alamuddin has all the brains in their relationship.
George Clooney admitted Amal Alamuddin was the smart one in their relationship
The 53-year-old was speaking at a charity event in New York City on Monday when he fluffed his lines on stage.
As he tried to recall how many countries the SeriousFun Children's Network's has helped, he accidentally overestimated the figure by a vast amount – stating a few hundred more countries than actually exist.
He began: "Since 1988, these camps have [helped] over a half million sick kids and their families from over five, from over 50, not just 500 countries... that would be too many," before he trailed off, realising he'd made a mistake.

Amal was unable to attend due to a human rights case she is working on in Egypt
"There aren't that many... Are there 500 countries?" he asked himself and the audience, before adding: "My wife's the smart one."
His wife of six months Amal was unable to join George on the night because she is currently working in Egypt on a human rights case.
He told Extra: "She's trying to get a guy out of prison in Egypt I think, so she's working. She's got her own, she's got a lot of stuff to do."
With her being so far away, the actor couldn't help gushing over his new bride.
The couple got married in Venice in September
George was accompanied by Danny DeVito at the event
"I'm very happy. It's exciting," he said of married life.
"I really love my wife, I’m having a great time and I’m very proud of her. I couldn’t be more proud of the things she does."
Unable to attend the charity night with his stunning wife, George took another date – pint-sized actor Danny DeVito.
The pair made an odd-couple as they posed for photographs at the event, as hunky George towered over the considerably shorter Matilda actor.
