The owners of the famous location, the Earl and Countess of Carnarvon, have revealed the castle is actually haunted by a ghost.
During an interview in this week's OK! Magazine, Lady Fiona admits she has witnessed some spooky events at the 300-room Victorian property.
"My husband hasn’t, but various people see various things," she said.
"The odd time I have, I’d rather they weren’t sharing the same space as me, but then you think, how can we best deal with it?"

We do see them, but they work really hard when they’re here, and we’re working hard too. It’s not our job to have a jolly, it’s our job to make sure the shot’s right
She added: "I tend to avoid that part of the castle and be respectful!"
With the likes of A-listers including George Clooney filming at the castle, Lady Fiona admits she can't help but have a glimpse at the cast of Downton Abbey during filming.
"We do see them, but they work really hard when they’re here, and we’re working hard too. It’s not our job to have a jolly, it’s our job to make sure the shot’s right."
The couple admitted that they do see the cast of Downton from time to time
Talking about whether they ever get to enjoy Highclere as their home, Lady Fiona - who is The eighth Countess of Carnarvon - said: "That’s secondary. The life of this house as a private home has passed.
"It’s public-facing. And we want to tell people the story to make them love it, whether they live locally or internationally."
The couple also revealed that they have another house for this, with George having said: "We have a house around the corner where we can have the dogs and make a bit more mess."
