Courtney Love signs up for opera
Rocker COURTNEY LOVE is to tackle opera as a member of the Kansas City Choir Boy show, which will hit the stage at the New York Opera/Theater/Now Festival in January (15).
The Hole singer has put her much-anticipated memoir on hold to star in composer Todd Almond's adventurous new show.
Announcing the news on Thursday (02Oct14), Love says, "I love the concept, and I'm loving the music... I'm looking to do things that are different. I just finished a rock tour of Australia, and it was great, but I've been doing that for a long time. I wanted to do something challenging."
Almond insists casting Love in the show was not a difficult decision for him. He tells The New York Times, "I've always been fascinated with her. I love her voice, and I think she's a great actress. And I thought she would find the character interesting."
Almond will also play the male lead in Kansas City Choir Boy.
