Knocked off the top! Cheryl's Crazy Stupid Love is beaten in the charts by reggae hit Rude
SHE'S BEEN celebrating a number one single and her new marriage but Cheryl's hit tune Crazy Stupid Love was knocked off the top spot, last night.
The newlywed was pipped to the top of the singles chart by a Canadian reggae fusion band.
Magic! have claimed their first number one with debut single Rude, pushing the X Factor judge's Crazy Stupid Love down to number two.
The Official Charts Company have revealed this week's number one single, Rude, first entered the chart four weeks ago based solely on audio streams.
Upon its official release last week, it jumped 48 places to the number two spot.
It is not only the most purchased track of the week, but with 1.4 million audio streams notched up this week too, it claims the highest streaming proportion for a number one single since streaming began counting towards the Official Singles Chart last month.
Some 16 per cent of Rude's overall chart sales tally has been contributed from fans listening via audio streaming services such as Spotify, Deezer and O2 Tracks.
Meanwhile, Cheryl has spoken out about her recent name change after marrying 33-year-old French restauranteur Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini last month.
The X Factor star said: "Everyone is having a hard time saying it.
"Just say Cheryl."
Music mogul Simon Cowell admitted her new name was a mouthful, agreeing: “We just have to call her Cheryl, like Madonna."
The singer, 31, is back after a four-year absence from the ITV show which returns later this month and her latest single, Crazy Stupid Love, has topped the UK charts.
She said of fellow judge Cowell: “The second I sat down it was like we have never been apart.
"I am the happiest I have ever been. It’s been an amazing week, an amazing year. I’m thrilled my record went to number one and I’m glad I’m back."
