'Agents have put me under pressure to lose weight': Kate Upton talks curves and confidence
SHE'S one of the most sought after models in the industry, with a body to die for but Kate Upton has revealed that agents have often told her to lose weight.
The star - who has recently turned her head to acting also - opened up about her body confidence to Elle magazine, where she admitted that despite some people's opinions, she thinks she's fine the way she is.
"Agents have put me under pressure to lose weight in the past," she said.
I would of on set and clients loved me and then I would go into an agency and feel cr*p about myself.
"They would say: 'Just lose five more [pounds]' But I couldn't give a cra*p. I still don't."
She added: "To me, agents don’t necessarily understand the realities of the industry; they’re sitting behind a desk.
"I never listen I'm fine."
Kate, who is known for bringing curves back to the table, went on to reveal that although she likes her body, she still has her down days.
"Everybody at some point in their life doesn't like themselves. It's not like I look in the mirror and think, 'I'm killing it. My eyes are killing it.'
"No, a lot of times I'm puffy and bloated. I like myself in general, but there are days when you just don't."
The 21-year-old also chatted about the time she realised she had curves and how excited she was.
"When I first started modelling, I was a normal catalogue model. Then, I became a woman, and I was really excited about becoming a woman. Because I’m from Florida, it’s all about being in bathing suits. It’s a different view of beauty there.
"You are ugly if you don’t have a curvy body. And I didn’t have one, and then I got one, and thought, ‘Yessss!’ And then people say: ‘Oh, wow, you’re healthy.’ And you’re like, ‘Wait – what?’ I’ve been begging for this body my whole life!’"
