Monty Python great John Cleese reveals new autobiography
While the Monty Python farewell reunion shows continue in London, also imminent is the long-awaited autobiography from John Cleese, which, he has just confirmed, is out in October.
Entitled So, Anyway, the book is described by publishers Random House as “candid and brilliantly funny, the story of how a tall, shy youth from Weston-super-Mare went on to become a comedy giant”.
In the book John, 74, describes his nerve-racking first public appearance at school; his peripatetic home life with parents who seemed incapable of staying in any house for longer than six months.

He also describes his first experiences in the world of work as a teacher who knew next to nothing about the subjects he was expected to teach; his hamster-owning days at Cambridge; and his first encounter with the man who would be his writing partner for more than two decades, Graham Chapman.
We can hardly wait.
