Fans swoon as dishy Downton Abbey star Dan Stevens strips for new role
AS HEIR to the estate, Matthew Crawley was the floppy-haired heart-throb of Downton Abbey – and never one to say no to Mrs Patmore’s pies.
But since being seen marrying Lady Mary in the TV series, Dan Stevens has dramatically slimmed down and buffed up to become Britain’s answer to Ryan Gosling.
The 31-year-old embarked on a punishing training regime, which included martial arts, for his role as a gun-toting soldier in his new film The Guest.
One scene in which he emerges dripping wet and semi-naked from the shower, appears to have landed the London-born actor a whole new army of fans
And the results have sent viewers into a frenzy after an online trailer for the thriller went viral this week.
One scene in which he emerges dripping wet and semi-naked from the shower, appears to have landed the London-born actor a whole new army of fans.
Mr Stevens’s character David plays a newly discharged US soldier. Arriving at the home of a family, he claims to be a friend of their son, Caleb, who was killed fighting in Afghanistan.
Although at first David appears to be the perfect house guest, a strange chain of events suggests he might not be what he seems.
The Guest is to be released in September.
