The Coen Brothers join Spielberg & Hanks for new Cold War thriller
The COEN BROTHERS have joined STEVEN SPIELBERG and TOM HANKS to bring a little-known Cold War story to the big screen as relations between the U.S. and Russia turn frosty again over the ongoing crisis in the Ukraine.
Joel and Ethan Coen have been brought in to revamp playwright Matt Charman's original script, which was based on the true story of a U.S. lawyer recruited by the CIA to negotiate the release of a pilot shot down over Russia in 1960.
The Coens have previously worked with Hanks on The Ladykillers, while Spielberg served as an executive producer on their Western, True Grit, in 2010.
