Crawley chic! Downton Abbey's Laura Carmichael and Elizabeth McGovern wow at BAFTA's
THEY play mother and daughter in hit period drama Downton Abbey, but Laura Carmichael and Elizabeth McGovern looked more like sisters as they graced the red carpet at the TV BAFTA's last night.
The pair, who take on the roles of Lady Cora and Lady Edith Crawley in the ITV show, looked absolutely stunning as they made their way to the annual awards ceremony, held at the Theatre Royal on Drury Lane, complimenting one another with monochrome looks.
27-year-old Laura looked every inch the stylish fashionista in an elegant black number, which showed off her figure and alabaster complexion a treat, while Elizabeth wore a stunning white frock, which swept across the floor.
Giving her an air of sophistication and poise, 52-year-old Elizabeth's dress featured a structured collar and shoulder pads, however added a sexy feel with a plunging neckline.
She teamed the number with a pair of silver heels and diamond-drop earrings while keeping the rest of her look minimal.
Laura also kept her look simple, leaving her dress - which featured a glittering skirt - to do all the talking.
She teamed it with a pair of black strappy sandals but left any jewellery at home and kept her strawberry blonde locks sleek and straight.
The duo appeared in great spirits as they reunited on the red carpet before gracing the stage together to present the award for Male Performance in a Comedy Programme.
The top spot went to IT Crowd star Richard Ayoade, who looked dapper in a black tuxedo.
