Brooke Shields 'gains ten pounds' but admits she feels happy and 'couldn't care less'
SHE'S one of the original nineties sex symbols, and it still lusted after by millions around the world despite being almost 50-years-old.
But it sounds as though Brooke Shields is ready to let loose a little more these days.
The former model is said to have gained around ten pounds recently, but is not about to let it get her down.
RadarOnline reported that the 48-year-old is "adamant that she couldn't care less" and is content to just be happy and healthy.
According to the website's source, the actress had to "put a stop to all workout routines" due to a knee injury.
But she is not letting the weight gain affect her.
The source said: "She’s almost 50 now and her focus is on being a mom and staying healthy, not being this super skinny supermodel/actress.
"She’s a very smart, independent and practical woman."
Brooke was pictured looking fabulous last week as she arrived at the Room To Grow Spring Gala.
Sporting a slightly curvier figure, the actress looked glorious in a purple gown, which made the most of her shapely legs and featured a plunging neck line.
Brooke previously opened up about her fitness and exercise regime, revealing that while she likes to exercise to keep her stress levels at bay, she tries not to be hard on herself about what she eats.
Speaking to Fitness magazine, she said: "Exercise helps me beat stress, I go for a run and deplete myself physically, so that I'm too tired to be tense.
"I never used to eat red meat, but now, if I crave it... I also love ice cream. I try not to deny myself, because if I do, it turns into this major internal battle."
