'She's a wonderful girl' Johnny Depp gushes about fiancé Amber Heard
HE'S BEEN wearing her engagement ring for the past week, and now Johnny Depp has opened up about fiancé Amber Heard, calling her a "wonderful girl."
The actor, who confirmed the engagement last week by calling himself indiscreet, couldn't help but enthuse about his bride-to-be in an interview with Today's Savannah Guthrie.
Speaking about the 27-year-old who he met on the set of The Rum Diaries, he said: "She's a wonderful girl. She's sharp as a tack."
He added: "'A southern belle and sweet as can be, and very good for me."
The 50-year-old stepped out last night as he headed to The Late Show With David Letterman, still sporting the ring said to be Amber's engagement bling.
Looking every bit the bohemian superstar, the handsome actor strolled to the studio sporting a worn leather jacket over the top of a pinstripe suit.
He completed his look with a pair of scuffed boots and a pair of his signature sunglasses.
According to US Weekly, the star began wearing the diamond sparkler he gave Heard, because it was "too big for her."
On Monday, Depp showed off the ring during a promotional stint in China and when quizzed about it, said: "The fact that I'm wearing a chick's ring on my finger is probably a dead giveaway.
"Not very subtle," he added.
Depp and Heard famously met on the set of 2011 movie The Rum Diary, while Depp was still in his 14-year relationship with French actress Vanessa Paradis.
However, the pair, who have two children together, announced their separation in June 2012 and it was soon revealed that Johnny had embarked on a relationship with Amber.
