BBC star Bill Turnbull insists he's on the mend and will be back in a 'couple of weeks'
BBC BREAKFAST presenter Bill Turnball has revealed that he is hoping to make a comeback to the show soon, after being hit by an unknown illness at the beginning of October.
The TV presenter, who co-hosts the show alongside Susannah Reid, has not been on the show since October 2, but has tweeted that he hopes to be back " in a couple of weeks."
"Sorry for prolonged absence from Breakfast sofa," he wrote earlier today.
"Been 'off games' for a while, but getting better now, Hope to be back in a couple of weeks," he added.
And it wasn't long before Strictly star Susannah replied with her well wishes.
Half jokingly, she wrote: "We miss you on #bbcbreakfast & bet you look forward to that 0340 alarm going off again Xx."
Although the star's illness has not been announced, a spokesperson for the BBC said: "Bill Turnball has been suffering from a short-term illness. He is on the mend and will be back with us very soon."
Charlie Stayt, 51, who normally only hosts the show at the end of the week, has been filling Bill’s Monday to Wednesday slots.
