Downton's Laura Carmichael and Elizabeth McGovern look beautiful in blue at fashion party
THEY'RE used to dressing up in fancy frocks on Downton Abbey, but it looks as though Laura Carmichael and Elizabeth McGovern are just as fancy in real life.
The actresses pulled out all the stops last night when they attended the Global Fund fashion party alongside the likes of the Beckham's, Colin Firth and Anna Wintour.
Posing outside the event, which was held at Apsley House in Piccadilly, the pair proved that they have exactly what it takes to shine on the red carpet.
Laura, who plays Lady Edith in the hit ITV drama, looked stunning in a midnight blue dress, which showed her slimline figure off to perfection.
The halter neck ensemble featured a bejewelled neck brooch and a knee-length hemline.
The deep colour of the frock complimented the 26-year-old's pale complexion perfectly, and she teamed it with a pair of matching shoes.
She finished off her look with minimal make-up and a simple hair do, which saw her blonde locks swept back and into a bun.
Meanwhile, co-star Elizabeth, who plays lady Grantham, looked just as stunning in another blue gown.

However, the 52-year-old opted for more of a fun approach and went for a bright blue prom-style dress and green accessories.
Showing off her svelte frame, the strapless dress cinched in at the waist but featured an A-line skirt.
She teamed it with a green clutch bag, matching shoes and a gold necklace, which was wrapped around her neck and finished off with a green heart pendant.
The actress wore her hair down and tousled while opting for a smokey eye and a sweep of pink lipgloss.
The British Fashion Council teamed up with Livia Firth and her applauded Green Carpet Challenge (GCC) to raise funds and awareness for The Global Fund To Fight Aids, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
They enlisted the help of the fashion elite including Victoria Beckham, Christopher Kane, Christopher Bailey, Erdem Moralioglu and Roland Mouret, who also attended the evening.
Downton Abbey stars again this Sunday.
