She scrubs up well! Downton Abbey's Joanne Froggatt is a vision in Venice
SHE might play a maid in the hit TV drama Downton Abbey, but Joanne Froggatt has proved she certainly isn't dowdy in real life, after stepping out in a super stylish outfit earlier today.
The actress - who plays head housemaid Anna in the period drama - looked stunning as she attended a photocell for hew new film Still Life at the Venice Film Festival.
Opting for a pretty rose-coloured skirt and a sleeves cream shirt, the actress looked every inch the Hollywood star.
She beamed from ear to ear as she posed for the cameras, despite the wind blowing her blonde locks in front of her face at times.
The 33-year-old could have passed for mid-twenties as she showed off her enviable legs and slimline waist.
The blonde star has been in the Italian city since earlier in the week for the 70th International Venice Film Festival, arriving with her husband James Cannon who she married last October.
Still life follows a lonely council worker as he arranges funerals for people who die alone.
Downton, which returns at the end of this month, has millions of fans worldwide but Joanne keeps a relatively low profile.
“Maybe it’s the uniform but I don’t get that much more attention than I did before,” she said.
Despite branching out, Joanne has no plans to leave the hit series.
She said: “I’m still enjoying it too much but I don’t think any of us knows how long this Downton phenomenon will last.
“My guess is that they will carry on making it for as long as people want to watch it.”
