Shirley MacLaine will definitely return to Downton Abbey
SHIRLEY MacLaine will be reprising her role as Downton Abbey's Martha Levinson, it has been confirmed.
Fans of the hot ITV1 period drama will no doubt be chuffed to hear that the US star will be appearing in the upcoming fourth series.
MacLaine plays Lord Robert Crawley’s American mother-in-law, and is well-known for her sharp tongue.
She first appeared in Downton Abbey at the beginning of the third series, and was seen clashing with Dame Maggie Smith’s character, Violet Crawley.
News of the 78-year-old’s return comes as producers announced six new faces for the TV drama.
Former EastEnders star Nigel Harman will arrive at Downton abbey later on this year along with Dame Harriet Walters and Julian Ovenden.
