Temptations star dies at 70
TEMPTATIONS singer Richard Street has died aged 70 after a short illness.
Motown star Street joined The Temptations in the early 1970s after singing with group members Otis Williams and Melvin Franklin as a young man.
Street, on the far left, sang lead vicals on Papa Was A Rollin’ Stone.
He stayed with the group for 25 years, making the move from his native Detroit to Los Angeles along with other Motown acts.
He quit after a row with Williams.
Street died in a Las Vegas hospital on Wednesday.
Wife Cindy paid tribute to him as a “really good person”.
