Field to play Lincoln's wife in Spielberg epic
SALLY FIELD has signed on to play ABRAHAM LINCOLN's wife MARY TODD in STEVEN SPIELBERG's new biopic about the assassinated U.S. President.
Daniel Day-Lewis has replaced fellow Irishman Liam Neeson as the President in Lincoln.
The film is based on revered historian Doris Kearns Goodwin's book Team of Rivals.
Spielberg is thrilled Field has agreed to play Todd. In a statement, the movie mogul says, "I've admired her films and she has always been my first choice to portray all the fragility and complexity that was Mary Todd Lincoln."
