The Bodyguard set for remake
Movie bosses are searching for a young female star to fill WHITNEY HOUSTON's shoes in a revamp of THE BODYGUARD.
Warner Bros. executives are rebooting the 1992 hit film, which starred Houston as a pop singer and Kevin Costner as a former Secret Service agent hired to protect her.
The remake will be tweaked to make Costner's character a former Iraq War veteran, who is recruited to watch the star as his first job after leaving the Army.
Studio chiefs are said to be looking for a talented young singer with "global appeal" for Houston's lead role, reports Deadline.com.
The romantic thriller grossed £274 million worldwide.
