Presenter Mark Dolan has announced a major career move just one month after he was sacked from GB News. The 50-year-old broadcaster, who joined the TV channel back in 2021, is set to appear on the Daily Expresso podcast every Monday while juggling his show on TalkTV and his own YouTube channel.

Sharing his excitement about the opportunity, he told host JJ Anisiobi on the latest episode of the podcast that he was ready for the “thrill” of the show. He gushed: “I’m so excited because I read the Express every day, I watch the Daily Expresso, so to be a part of this amazing media family is a thrill. I think that it’s a brand, the Daily Express and the podcast on YouTube, that talks to the audience, talks to the reader, talks to the listeners, talks to the viewer. And I think that is the future of media now, this connection.”

The dad-of-two went on to share some of his concerns in his day-to-day life, which he hopes to discuss on the programme. He added: “And the other thing that really helps, I know that you [JJ Anisiobi] live in the real world, and I know that I live in the real world.

“For example, I don’t know about you, but I’ve got bills, I’ve got a mortgage that has gone up, I’ve got credit cards, I’ve got kids, and I’m married. I think that the more that we can use this platform to talk about what’s good about the world and what’s working and, more commonly, what’s not working, [the better].”

The presenter went on to share his intentions for his Monday podcast, which he hopes to use as an opportunity to “call out the Labour government” for their failures.

Dolan explained: “I think one of the better headlines for me going forward is to call out this Labour government because I think they’ve squandered one of the greatest political opportunities in recent modern times with that massive majority.

“And you’ve got a Prime Minister who’s a lot more left wing than he claimed that he was going to be before the election.” His new job comes after he was axed from GB News with no warning and spoke about his departure in an explosive YouTube video as he launched his new project, The Mark Dolan Show.

He reflected on having worked for the channel and teased his future in the video, which was titled “SACKED by GB News – My Story.” He said in the video: “During my time at the channel, in which I was paid to have an opinion, I will have been right some of the time and wrong on other occasions.

“But there really isn’t a syllable of anything I said across literally hundreds of shows and thousands of hours of output that I would change. I stand by it all, because I’m not one of those broadcasters who lick their finger, put it in the air, and decide which way the wind is blowing.

"There are plenty of those around – industry stooges, fakes, and phonies. And I’ll be naming and shaming in the months ahead.” Discussing his departure from the channel, he added: “Let me tell you that leaving GB News was not my choice. I was fired. It took minutes. But let me tell you, they did it nicely.”
