Former Strictly contestant Jay McGuiness has revealed to fans his gruelling training regime ahead of Blackpool Week. The singer from the boy band The Wanted is returning for a special group performance with three other Strictly legends. Ashley Roberts, Danny Mac, Jay, and Layton Williams will be returning for a spectacular group dance number. Danny and Oti Mabuse reached the final during the 14th series of Strictly, where they finished as the runners-up. Meanwhile, Jay won the series in 2015 with his partner Aliona, whilst Layton Williams made it to the final with Nikita Kuzmin in 2023.

Taking to social media, Jay has given fans an insight into his rehearsals before he makes his big return. He said: "Another rehearsal down... Dancing’s one of my favourite ways to exercise {Should NOT have left it so long}.

"What a dream, thank you so much @bbcstrictly - proud to be repping the class of 2015. P.S. Can't walk right now."

A third also said: "I was living in Australia when you were on the show. My mum would text me every week to update me on how you were doing."

Ashley Roberts was the runner-up in the 2018 series of Strictly.

The news was announced by Janette Manrara on the spin-off show, It Takes Two. BBC fans who tuned in to the episode were left in a meltdown and took to social media to voice their reactions.

One person said: "They're four of my favourite ever #Strictly celebs so I couldn't be more excited to see them all dance again!! In fact Jay is the last winner that I've loved. GREAT NEWS."

A second also commented: "You don't believe how excited I am about this. Winner Danny Mac back in the ballroom. Best Blackpool ever #ItTakesTwo #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing."
