Ruth Langsford ‘wants to meet man on holiday’ as summer romance plans unveiled
Ruth Langsford is eyeing a holiday romance following her split from Eamonn Holmes.

Ruth Langsford is setting her sights on a summer romance — with the TV star said to be keen to meet a man on holiday following her split from Eamonn Holmes nearly two years ago. But rather than turning to dating apps, Ruth has set her sights on something far more traditional as she plans to find love abroad in the sun. A source told HeatWorld: “She’s confessed to pals she wants to meet a man on holiday, because she really doesn’t want to have to rely on dating apps and would much rather meet someone organically.
"She also feels that everyone is a bit more relaxed when they’re on vacation, so it’s the perfect setting for romance.” They added: “Ruth had the best birthday abroad this year. It’s put a spring in her step and given her more confidence to travel more and meet someone.” The update comes after a turbulent period for Ruth following the breakdown of her marriage.

The couple split in May 2024 after 14 years of marriage and 27 years together — something Ruth later admitted came as “a huge shock”. She said: “I was broken. Broken heart. Broken dreams.”
The source added: “It’s obviously been an incredibly tough time for her, but after a lot of therapy and soul-searching, she feels she’s turned a corner.
“It’s been a massive adjustment to find herself single again after 27 years with Eamonn, and she wants to reward herself with more travel opportunities.”
Ruth recently celebrated her 66th birthday in the South of France with close friend Lizzie Cundy — a trip that appears to have reinforced her plans.
Sharing a glimpse of the getaway, she wrote: “So this is 66,” and added: “Spending my birthday with friends in the sunshine.” Meanwhile, Eamonn has since moved on and is now dating counsellor Katie Alexander.
Ruth, however, is said to be focused on her own future. The source said: “She’s desperate to move on from the Eamonn drama and thinks the best way to do it is by meeting someone she has a connection with.”
They added: “She’s been going on a few dates here and there, but would prefer for the setting to be somewhere under the sun.” Friends are also expected to play a big role in her plans.
The insider shared that Ruth is keen to do a girls’ trip with the likes of Lizzie Cundy and Amanda Holden, as well as her “other close female friends”.
They continued: “She loves the idea of going away with a group of women who bring out the best in her, and will also be there to watch her back.”
As for what she’s looking for, the source said: “Ruth’s ideal date would be someone who is financially stable and not put off by the fact she is in the public eye.”
They added: “She’s not that bothered by age as long as they’re confident and a gentleman.” The source said: “This is about doing what’s best for her, living her best life with a man of her dreams – and her best friends supporting her all the way.”
