The Kardashians share unexpected update on 'distant' Kris and Caitlyn relationship

Caitlyn Jenner and ex-wife Kris have shared a massive relationship update after years of being apart.

In Thursday's (October 30) episode of The Kardashians, the former couple left their children stunned when Caitlyn turned up for a farewell dinner at their old home.

Viewers who have followed the family since the Keeping Up With The Kardashians era will recall they filmed the programme at Eldorado Meadow, which they owned for 15 years.

However, before selling the mansion, the reality stars returned to the property for one last meal, which saw Caitlyn making a surprise appearance.

"Your dad and I bought this house many years ago, and I think one person isn't here that should be here to say goodbye with us to this house," Kris, 69, explained as the family gathered round, reports OK!.

Caitlyn, 76, then entered, declaring: "What's going on?!"

This marks the Olympic champion's first appearance on The Kardashians, which premiered in 2022 following the conclusion of Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Kris later disclosed that she called her ex and asked if she would like to "come say goodbye to Eldorado Meadow." Naturally, Caitlyn was keen to participate.

Whilst their mood was upbeat during the meal, the Kardashian offspring were quick to praise their mother for inviting Caitlyn, despite their turbulent history.

Speaking to the cameras, Kendall, 29, offered insight into her parents' relationship. "I definitely wasn't expecting my dad to be here, just knowing the relationship that my mum has with my dad - not that it's bad, it's just distant," she began.

"My mum's had a hard time inviting my dad to some of our family gatherings in the past, so it makes me happy that Kylie and I didn't have to ask for my dad to be invited and that my mum just thought it was a good idea."

Khloé, 41, was equally impressed by her mum's "growth" and admitted: "I know how hard that is for her."

She continued: "They didn't have a good relationship for years after their divorce. Things were said. Weaponizing some situations to make my mum look a way that just wasn't truthful.

"And the fact that my mum can put all of that behind her - or on pause for a second - it's really, really big of her."

Caitlyn and Kris divorced in 2014 following 23 years of marriage, with the former revealing her transgender identity the subsequent year.

According to Khloé's perspective, Caitlyn publicly painted her former spouse in an unfavourable manner during the years following their separation, leaving their bond strained ever since.

Nevertheless, it seems they're making progress towards mending their friendship.

Reflecting on her father's appearance, Kylie, 28, remarked: "I don't know if my parents will ever be best friends again. But this is definitely a great first step."
