Strictly’s Vicky Pattison shares biggest TV ‘regret’ as she was left 'terrified'
Strictly's Vicky Pattison made a surprise admission about the show she regretted taking part in

Strictly Come Dancing star Vicky Pattison made a good impression during her dancefloor debut and was awarded 23 votes for her Jive with pro Kai Widdrington. However, ahead of her confirmed appearance on the star-studded BBC competition, the reality star made a surprise admission about her TV work. Vicky first arrived in the spotlight in 2011 on MTV’s reality show Geordie Shore, which followed a group of young men and women whose lives revolved around partying and the drama that came with it. Following its 2014 exit, Vicky went on to win I’m A Celeb the following year and even take part in the Australian spin-off, where she finished in fourth place.
However, it was her 2021 appearance in Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins that the 37-year-old regrets. The gruelling programme pushes its famous contestants to the limit as they are tested to the extreme as they attempt to pass the notoriously difficult SAS Selection test for a charitable trust against cancer. “I was terrified, I’ll always regret that,” Vicky admitted as she reflected on the show.

During a podcast interview, the Strictly star explained: “In terms of my career, I’ve been so lucky … with SAS, I love the show, huge fan, but I did it in lockdown.
“So where I can myself relatively strong and fit … rather than spending the year doing pilates, training sessions and going on runs. I spent the year getting up at 3pm in the afternoon, having two deliveroos every day.”
Vicky continued: “I was just really unhealthy, and what had happened was I’d been meant to do Bear Grylls: The Island, I was meant to do that in March, and then the whole world closed down.
“It was getting to be a long time since I’d been on TV, and that show wasn’t happening, and then they came to me with SAS.

“Deep down I knew, it probably wasn’t the right time but I was like ‘It’s going to be fine’ but it wasn’t, so that one stands out in my head as probably the right show but wrong time,” Vicky added to the Chloe vs The World podcast.
The 37 year old’s time on SAS came to a premature end as Vicky decided to quit after a military-inspired challenge became too much to endure.
At the time, she took to Instagram and revealed that she “dreaded” the show airing as it was “physically the hardest thing she had done” and the “most emotionally difficult position I've ever put myself in.”
Alongside a clip of herself on the show, she added: “I throw myself into everything I do - I give a 110% & not being able to finish the course has been a huge source of shame & embarrassment to me.”
