CNN commentator blasts 'disgraceful' Donald Trump after 'embarrassing' move
CNN has slammed Donald Trump after a chaotic speech that saw him skip a key military tradition and ramble about divorce, yachts, and "trophy wives."

Donald Trump has come under fire once again after delivering a chaotic and off-topic speech at West Point that CNN dubbed “disgraceful” and “embarrassing.” The 47th President addressed graduating cadets at the US Military Academy over the weekend wearing a red MAGA cap — but it wasn’t his outfit that raised eyebrows. Breaking with long-standing presidential tradition, Trump left the ceremony early and failed to stay and shake hands with every graduate — a gesture respected by predecessors Joe Biden and Barack Obama. His decision quickly sparked backlash online.
CNN panellist Harry Sisson slammed the move on social media, writing: “Donald Trump left the West Point graduation ceremony early and didn’t shake the hands of every graduating cadet, which is tradition for the president to do. You know who did? President Biden, President Obama, and others who actually care about this country. Disgraceful.” Another user added: “Disappointing that POTUS didn't stay to shake hands with the West Point graduates but left halfway through commencement. A nice tradition from many commanders in chief.”

But the early exit wasn’t the only talking point.
Trump, 78, shocked viewers by veering wildly off script during his address, dedicating a portion of the military graduation speech to mock late real estate developer William Levitt — widely credited as the father of the American suburb.
Instead of focusing on the accomplishments of the graduating cadets, Trump launched into an extended anecdote that left many stunned.
Trump commented: “He had nothing to do. He ended up getting a divorce, found a wife. Can you say a trophy wife? It didn’t work out too well – that doesn’t work out too well, I must tell you. A lot of trophy wives, it doesn’t work out.

“It made him happy for a little while, at least. He found a new wife. He got a big yacht.”
The moment quickly went viral, with viewers accusing Trump of turning the prestigious ceremony into a personal rant.
“Nothing like turning a West Point graduation into a Mar-a-Lago dinner monologue. Truly a masterclass in staying on message, if the message is ‘midlife crisis: the speech,” slammed one X user
Another penned: “Why is he babbling about this at a graduation?” and “It’s remarkable how many people just accept this as the new normal in a commander-in-chief.”
