Liam Payne: Former One Direction star dies aged 31
In a shocking turn of events, Liam Payne, the former One Direction heartthrob, tragically lost his life after plummeting from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The 31-year-old singer's death was confirmed following the harrowing incident on Wednesday. A close friend, identified as Jodie, has now come forward revealing that merely hours before his untimely demise, Liam had sent her a photograph.
According to her account, the pop star reached out on Monday, casually inquiring about her activities. Upon learning she was at the gym with her son, Liam responded with a simple: "Nice".
He then proceeded to send a snapshot from his hotel room, which depicted him with his head in his hands. Jodie recalled replying with: "Sorry just home x."
As reported by The Sun, their conversation resumed on Wednesday morning, with Liam asking if she was up and later sharing that he was "chilling" in Argentina. Tragically, not long after their exchange, the singer had the fatal accident, falling from the third floor of his hotel, reports the Mirror.

Jodie told Sky News: "I'm really close to Liam, we've been friends for years and he was away yesterday in Argentina and I think he just wanted to touch base and check I was okay, see how everyone was back at home.
"We speak near enough every day and have done for years. Obviously he's always been there at times I've needed him even though he's not local."
Emergency services, including police, firefighters, and ambulances, were dispatched to the scene where Liam had fallen. He was said to have been behaving "aggressively" at the hotel, where he was under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
His body was discovered in the hotel's internal patio with horrifying injuries, including a fractured skull and internal bleeding.
It is suspected that Liam fell from a height of 40 metres, sustaining "very serious injuries incompatible with life."

The local ambulance manager stated to TN: "At 17.04 through the 911 integrated public safety system, we were alerted of a person who was in an internal courtyard of the management of a south house hotel."
"There is an internal courtyard where the victim fell, with tables and chairs: the hotel's confectionery shop operates there. The space has a retractable roof that was open at the time. Fortunately, there were no other people there," case sources revealed.
Rita Ora was among those expressing their condolences following the tragic news.
She took to Twitter/X and penned: " I'm devastated. He had the kindest soul, I will never forget. I loved working with him so much - he was just such a joy to be around on and off stage. This tragic news breaks my heart. Sending all my love and prayers to his family and loved ones. Our song For You takes on a whole new meaning for me now. R.I.P."
