Sky News presenter Jacquie Beltrao has updated fans on her health in the aftermath of healing from cancer.

The 59-year-old broadcaster was diagnosed with breast cancer back in 2013 and has been open about her battle with the disease ever since.

Her health took a turn for the worse in 2020 when she was left fearing that she had just months left to live after doctors discovered her stage-four breast cancer had spread to her spine and legs.

However, thanks to an incredible drug called olaparib – previously used for ovarian cancer – the star began her recovery.

Despite the fact that the former Olympic gymnast is cancer free, she has continued to receive treatment to keep her fighting fit.

On Monday (October 14), the mum-of-three shared a snap from hospital as she updated her loyal legion of fans on her latest treatments.

The journalist could be seen sitting in a chair with her arm attached to a hospital drip as she bravely beamed to the camera.

She explained to her loyal followers that she was receiving a Zometa bone infusion – a treatment which is used to treat high blood calcium levels that may occur with cancer.

It comes after the star revealed three stitches on her lip last week after doctors discovered some skin damage on her face. She also paid a visit to the hospital to have a pet scan done to check that the cancer hadn’t returned.

Earlier this year, the sporting legend took to social media to mark the three-year anniversary of when she was told there were no traces of cancer left in her body. In an emotional post, she admitted that she didn’t think she would live to see this day.

She wrote: “I’d never thought I’d see my boys finish university – they're back from Durham and Leeds and next week they’ll graduate.

“I feel I’ve done some good interesting work in the last 3 years at Sky – maybe having a time limit on my life freed me in some way – I don’t know.

“Physically, I’m in good shape – my left arm is fatter than the other due to the lack of lymph nodes, I get a lot of mouth issues, I get tired sometimes and I’m not sure how solid my bones are but all in all I’m good.”

The Sky sports presenter also encouraged those who are facing a recent diagnoses to “try and keep putting one foot in front of the other, keep your family and friends close – you are still in the game".
