Angela Rippon was the centre of attention as The One Show threw her a fantastic birthday bash on Friday night, leaving viewers gobsmacked with her youthful looks. The veteran broadcaster, who has been a familiar face on British TV for nearly six decades, stunned fans who believed she appeared much younger.

Rippon, who trailblazed a path as the first woman to regularly present the news on national television, continues to be a consumer champion on Rip Off Britain alongside Gloria Hunniford from Loose Women. She also made history last year as the oldest contestant ever on Strictly Come Dancing.

On the show, Angela was feted with an enormous bouquet and had the delight of a visit from ex-Strictly partner Kai Widdrington, along with receiving a splendid cake courtesy of McFly and Busted.

Opening up about age and health, Angela spoke with conviction about her passion for getting the nation dancing for both fun and wellness, advocating for personal responsibility in health to benefit the NHS.

Eager to inspire movement across the nation, Angela has put plans into action for a National Dance Day next year, saying: "From cradle to grave you can dance...you have to use your brain, so it;s great for keeping your brain working."

She further stated: "I've now got the NHS supporting what I'm doing...get the nation to dance...something that will keep you fit, strong, supple, improve your core strength, give you balance so you don't fall over and injure yourself when you're old. We can save the NHS money and we can get the nation fit, healthy and dancing."
