BBC One presenter Alex Jones has shared her favourite pieces to wear this autumn for transitional dressing and fans said it's "comfort clothing with class". The 47-year-old partnered with British retailer Cotton Traders and picked out several pieces perfect for layering and refreshing your wardrobe with classy neutrals and rich seasonal shades.

With prices starting from £35, shoppers can choose from a Boho-chic maxi dress to keep them a breeze in muggy weather or get snuggly with a cosy jumper in calming powder pink when it's chilly in the evenings. Sharing on Instagram, Alex looked stunning as she modelled her autumn edit.

She put on a cream Double Breasted Boucle Jacket on top of a navy grey crewneck T-shirt and black straight-leg jeans. The tweed pattern on the jacket, along with the gold buttons, makes the outerwear more expensive than its price tag, which is £69.

Then she changed into another smart-casual office look but she opted for a bright lilac wool-look coat to brighten the day. The new seasonal colourway is ready for the season ahead and it comes in a soft and sumptuous fabric that feels like wool but has the added bonus of being easy to care for and machine-washable.

It goes well with black bottoms but try it with your favourite jeans and trainers to give your weekend wardrobe a bit of an edge. When it comes to autumn, many of us will instantly think of trench coats - so does Alex, that's why she included this Mock Suede Trench Coat in her autumn edit.

Fans spotted the coat online and many were surprised that it retails for £59. One said: "Stunning, Alex you look good on all of them but I love the trench coat. Can't believe the price yet it looks so expensive." Another added: "The trench coat is definitely going in my basket, so versatile and different than the ones on the high street."

But others have their eyes set on the £40 chunky green cardigan and one commented: "I love the green and brown chunky cardigan. As a librarian it is vital to have one."

"Love the green cardigan, perfect for autumn," a second added. The nostalgic knitwear is proven a popular piece as it's fast selling online in the last 24 hours.

Most of the pieces are available between size 8 to 22 - shoppers however pointed out the fitting of each item could be different as one described the trench coat: "Nice fabric and styling but very big. I usually wear a size 10 but this coat fitted a friend who is size 16."

Another commented on the shirred dress: "I don't have a large chest but still felt that there was inadequate material (waist to neck) to cover my chest which caused the hem at the front to lift higher than the back - maybe I'm just a weird shape. Really loved the dress but not for me unfortunately."

For alternatives, JD Williams also introduced their autumn edit including a collarless coat with metal buckles and a light wash denim maxi dress, shoppers can get £20 off with code 'GET20'. Seasalt Cornwall is offering a promotion to let customers save big on all-season styles with up to £40 off when spending £150.
