Carol Vorderman calls for Laura Kuenssberg's BBC 'replacement' after brutal Ed Davey dig
Carol Vorderman joined furious viewers as she called for the BBC political presenter Laura Kuenssberg to be dropped and replaced by another veteran host.
Carol Vorderman has hit out at BBC politics presenter Laura Kuenssberg as the former Countdown presenter said she should be replaced by Victoria Derbyshire. It comes as Laura, 47, allegedly issued a dig towards the Liberal Democrat leader, Ed Davey.
The BBC News presenter was called "opinionated" and "rude" for the way that she introduced the MP ahead of an interview with him. Opening her interview, Ms Kuenssberg said: "This election made history for all sorts of reasons, and when you put the votes together, the smaller parties got their highest ever share of the votes.
"Maybe it was the bungee jumping, or maybe given that the Liberal Democrats want to change the voting system, ironically perhaps they just learned how to play it better by ruthlessly targeting seats where the Conservatives had held them."
The show cut to a clip of Mr Davey celebrating as he and his party sang and danced to a rendition of Sweet Caroline. The presenter continued: "Well there he is, Ed Davey, the happiest man in Britain, he looked like there, celebrating winning more than 70 seats, and he joins us this morning from south west London."
She added: "Ed Davey, congratulations, I suppose, on your more than 70 seats." However, it was the use of her words "I suppose" that angered viewers and Carol.

The mathematician, 63, posted to X (formerly Twitter) as she wrote: "Time for #bbclaurak to become #bbcVictoriaD don't you think? @vicderbyshire Quite extraordinary.
"Vic D is exceptional and gives them all a hard time if that is what's needed. She knows her detail and cuts through with any bias. BBC is lucky to have her."
The public seemed to agree with Carol, with one user tweeting: "Is it just me or is it time that Laura Kuenssberg was dropped? She's far too opinionated and often downright rude."

Another said: "When she said, 'Congratulations, I suppose' I physically jumped. The BBC needs to look closely at her performance. She is not employed to put her own opinion forward."
A third penned: "Absolutely disgraceful from #LauraKuenssberg … she's practically snarling as she says 'Ed Davey, congratulations -I suppose' … get rid of her @BBCPolitics."
Another chimed in with: "Dear @BBCNews. Please replace Laura Kuenssberg and Fiona Bruce with Victoria Derbyshire immediately. Kind regards, the British viewers."
