‘New Yellowstone lead’ Matthew McConaughey embraces Western theme for wedding anniversary

It's still unknown if and when Hollywood star Matthew McConaughey will officially join the Yellowstone universe, but he and his wife of over a decade are already embracing the Western theme.

Matthew McConaughey and his wife Camila Alves celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary with a loved-up Western-style couple portrait.

The Hollywood A-lister, 54, took to Instagram to share the heartwarming snap in which he kisses Camila, 41, a Brazilian model and designer, on the forehead.

They captioned the post with a simple “thank you” and added the hashtag “#happyanniversary”.

They’ve been married since 2012 and share three children together, Levi, 15, Vida, 14, and Livingston, 11.

Matthew was embracing his inner cowboy for the romantic photoshoot, over a year after he was linked to a new Yellowstone spin-off for the Paramount Network.

He donned a denim jacket and tan stetson hat while posing with Camila in front of a sweeping sunset scene, looking very reminiscent of the Kevin Costner-led drama and other classic Westerns.

Could this be a hint from the A-lister that his Yellowstone deal is close to being finalised?

Unfortunately, there haven’t been any official updates since Paramount Media Networks head Chris McCarthy confirmed his casting last year.

The Interstellar star still hasn’t inked a deal to officially sign on and, according to insiders, he’s growing frustrated with the lengthy casting process.

“No deal has ever taken this long for Matthew,” a source told Life & Style.

They also claimed the actor was asking for $2.5 million per episode but hasn’t been able to sign up for other projects in the meantime.

He "doesn’t have clarity on when exactly this job would even start,” the insider added.

Matthew could also be wary of the alleged behind-the-scenes drama between series lead Kevin and the franchise’s creator Taylor Sheridan.

"[Taylor has] a reputation for being a jerk with a 'God complex’,” the source went on, adding, "Matthew doesn’t particularly like behind-the-scenes drama."

The Oscar-winner hasn’t been seen in a live-action role since 2019 when he starred in The Gentlemen, The Beach Bum and Serenity, as well as briefly appearing as himself in Between Two Ferns: The Movie.

However, he did lend his voice to Sing 2 in 2021 and portrayed Elvis Presley in the animated comedy series Agent Elvis on Netflix last year.

Hopefully, it won’t be long before fans get to enjoy another great performance from the charismatic star, but it remains to be seen if this will happen in a Yellowstone spin-off or something else entirely.
