TV's Dr Michael Mosley, known for his diet and health expertise, has sparked concern after going missing on a Greek island just one day following his social media update.

The beloved health guru, often gracing screens on This Morning and The One Show, took to social media to discuss his Radio 4 programme Just One Thing, which delves into simple yet scientifically backed health tips. His post read: "If time is tight, what's the one thing that you should be doing to improve your health and wellbeing? In my Just One Thing series with @bbcradio4 I explore the surprisingly simple top tips that are scientifically proven to change your life. Listen to the latest episodes on BBC iPlayer."

Fans, worried about his disappearance, have flooded the comments section of his post. One expressed their hope for his safety, saying: "Hope you are found safe and well."

Another shared their concern with: "Please be ok @michaelmosley_official."

There was no mention of his trip to Greece on his Instagram prior to his disappearance, reports the Mirror.

On X - previously known as Twitter - Michael's final message before vanishing involved a reply to a fan's gratitude towards his advice, where he mentioned his wife. The fan had written: "Hi Michael hope you read this. Thank you so much. I decided to take cold showers after listening to your episode about the benefits of it. Now I've had a rotator cuff injury for a while and had to take at least 2 ibuprofen daily. A week after the cold showers, I haven't had to."

In a light-hearted exchange, Michael quipped: "Delighted to hear it.. while reading your tweet (or is it your X) I had a bad moment when I thought you were going to say you got a rotator cuff injury after falling in the shower..." A fan then chimed in with: "Heard the Dead Ringers parody? I'd see it as an honour! " to which Michael humorously responded: "I have.. I'm not convinced I really sound like that but my wife Clare says it is spot on."

Meanwhile, a large-scale search operation has been launched on the Greek island of Symi, where Dr. Michael Mosley was visiting for a promotional tour with his wife. Local social media updates have confirmed that search and rescue teams from Athens are en route to the island, located in the Dodecanese archipelago, amid reports from officials that they have yet to find "no trace whatsoever" of the renowned health expert.

Dr. Mosley's representatives have expressed their concern, stating to the Mirror: "We are very worried about him".

Greek police official Constantina Dimoglidou reported that the search efforts commenced early today but have so far yielded no significant discoveries. She detailed: "He was at the beach of Ag. Nikolas with another couple when he decided to go back to his home in the area of Pedi of Symi. It was around 1.30pm and he forgot his phone at the beach. Any and every attempt to track him down has not produced any result."

"We have now asked the fire brigade to assist in the operation in the case that he may have slipped, tripped, fallen, even bitten by a snake, remaining injured somewhere. There is just no trace of him. None whatsoever and that means that for us at least, every potential scenario is open and being investigated."

Dr Mosley's wife, Dr Claire Bailey, raised the alarm when he failed to return six hours after leaving for his hike earlier this week. Police are leading the investigation, suggesting they believe he is missing on land.

But the coast guard is thought to be assisting in the search effort. A community Facebook group on Symi has also issued an appeal for people who may have seen the presenter.
