Dramatic scenes unfolded as Sean Bean was caught up in a fracas after reportedly refusing to stop vaping inside a Liverpool bar.

The 65-year-old actor, famed for his roles in Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings, was enjoying an evening at Tom Thumb when a bouncer approached him with a plea to stop vaping, according to sources present in the early hours of Saturday.

A fan who had been in the venue for around 20 minutes before the incident claimed that there was a verbal exchange, but Sean continued to vape despite the bouncer's request.

The eyewitness recounted that the star exited the establishment but made a comeback ten minutes later, which is when the altercation, partially captured on video, erupted.

Sean was allegedly tackled to the ground and then forcibly removed from the premises, the witness claimed.

Footage circulating online seems to show Sean holding an object resembling a vape pen.

The spectator, a 35-year-old local, expressed initial excitement at spotting the celebrity: "I was really surprised and pleased when I first looked up and saw him sitting there.

"He's a great actor and I've not seen him there before. It was very exciting."

However, the situation quickly soured: "Then it was really disappointing when the bouncer had to go over."

The onlooker told MailOnline that the bouncer was requesting Sean to stop vaping inside the bar.

"Sean kept saying he could do what he wanted," they went on. "To be honest he was being a right a**ehole.

"The bouncers were just doing what they do for everyone else - it was totally fair enough. When he came back in he just started vaping again."

"They asked him to leave but he wouldn't. He was just clinging onto his chair," they continued. "I was so shocked by the fight I couldn't move - my jaw just hit the floor.

"I was really saddened by his smugness. He really seemed to feel like he could do what he wanted."

Tom Thumb bar has denied the incident taking place. Express.co.uk has approached Sean Bean's representatives for comment.
