Gogglebox star almost unrecognisable in rare throwback snap as she celebrates milestone
Gogglebox stars Jenny Newby and Lee Riley, who are two of the Channel 4 show's most beloved telly watchers, recently wowed fans with a youthful throwback snap.
Gogglebox's Lee pulls hilarious hair prank on Jenny
Gogglebox star Jenny Newby celebrated her 69th birthday last weekend, with her best friend Lee Riley sending her a sweet message on social media to mark the milestone. The Channel 4 star wowed fans with a throwback snap to them both when they were younger, with Jenny sporting a completely different hairstyle.
On their joint Instagram account, Lee penned: “How many years ago was this picture wow. Wishing my best friend Jenny a happy 69th birthday much love always Lee,” he added with heart emojis. (sic)
The picture, which was shared with their 877,000 followers, showed the pair sporting a youthful glow as they enjoyed an evening out together. In the snap, a brunette Lee sported a black T-shirt, while Jenny wore a dark grey strappy top and some snazzy drop-down earrings.
However, the most significant difference was her hair, which was very dark brown as opposed to her usual grey. Fans and friends took to the comments section to react to the picture and to wish Jenny a happy birthday.
“Happy birthday Jenny! Hope you have a fabulous day,” fellow Gogglebox star Ellie Warner penned. While other co-stars David and Shirley Griffiths added: “Happy birthday jenny love xx.” (sic)
One more co-star, Mica, commented: “Happy birthday Jenny [heart emojis]. Sending All our love from Big Meesh & Marky.” (sic)
Others complimented Jenny on her appearance, with one fan writing: “Happy birthday Jenny! You still look much younger it must be that sudacrem.” (sic)
“Happy birthday Jenny love the hair x,” Catherine remarked. (sic)
“Wearing well, Jenny. Best wishes to you. Have a fabulous day,” Janet added.

Jenny and Lee joined Gogglebox all the way back in 2014 during its fourth series, and have been going strong ever since.
They struck up a friendship two decades ago after meeting in Jenny’s pub, where Lee was a regular.
The friends have become so close since then, that they even isolated in Lee’s caravan together during the first lockdown.
