Strictly Come Dancing pro Giovanni Pernice is due to appear in Celebrity Hunted - a series where famous faces go on the run while trying to outwit professional "hunters" who are skilled in surveillance techniques. The dancer filmed the series last year along with fellow Strictly star Kai Widdrington and eight other celebrities.

According to reports the Channel 4 show had been indefinitely postponed amid the ongoing investigation.

However, a source today told Express.co.uk that the show is "certainly not on pause indefinitely" and will go ahead as planned. They added that the airing date has "nothing to do with" Giovanni or the recent complaints made by his former dance partners.

The source also shared the show is "currently unscheduled" with no set release date, it would not have been expected to be scheduled until two weeks before airing. It comes after recent reports had suggested that the current BBC investigation would stand in the way of the show.

Addressing claims the show is being shelved, a TV insider told The Sun: “This will be gutting for Gio, as he’s seen himself get increasing amounts of work beyond the dance show. It’s particularly galling as Celebrity Hunted is a programme designed as a fundraising and awareness raising vehicle for their Stand Up 2 Cancer appeal.

“That’s something he very much wanted to be a part of, so it is a huge disappointment to know it probably won’t see the light of day while the investigation is ongoing.”

Giovanni is said to be under a BBC investigation over alleged claims of misconduct after complaints emerged from his 2023 dance partner, Sherlock actress Amanda Abbington. He vehemently denies any claims of wrongdoing.

Amanda withdrew from the BBC show early last year, citing personal and medical reasons, and she later said she'd had a case of "mild PTSD".

Both parties are believed to be submitting evidence which they believe will support their point of view about the events that took place.

Meanwhile, two of Giovanni's other partners - ex-Love Island host Laura Whitmore and Good Morning Britain's Ranvir Singh - are claimed to have made complaints about his working style.

However, he is believed to have maintained a strong relationship with Rose Ayling-Ellis, the show's first ever deaf contestant, with whom he lifted the Glitterball trophy back in 2021.

Fans recalled how he'd carried her around when rigorous rehearsal sessions caused pain and bruising to her feet.

Meanwhile, there have been reports that Giovanni and Anton's travel show has also been postponed, despite hopes that a third series would soon be filmed.

It is believed that the pair's 2024 tour, Together, will go ahead as planned, and they have already been captured in recent footage rehearsing for it.

Giovanni enjoyed luxury breaks with his girlfriend Molly Brown in Dubai and Madeira this month, before returning to the UK, where he was pictured carrying bags of clothing out of his London flat.
