Bennett to receive lifetime achievement award
Veteran crooner TONY BENNETT is to accept a lifetime achievement honour at the 2010 Nordoff-Robbins Silver Clef Awards.
The 83-year-old entertainer will be acknowledged for his 60 years in the industry at the gala event, which will benefit the music therapy charity Nordoff-Robbins.
Previous recipients of the prestigious accolade include Rod Stewart, U2 and Oasis.
Bennett says, "I feel I've joined a very special club. I am a great believer that music can be a powerful healing force and I applaud all the fantastic work that Nordoff-Robbins has implemented over the past 50 years."
The ceremony, to be hosted by Sharon Osbourne, will take place on 2 July (10) at London's Hilton Hotel.
