Motsi jail threat over claims her ex was controlling
Strictly Come Dancing judge Motsi Mabuse has been threatened with jail by her ex-husband if she repeats claims that he was controlling.
Motsi, 42, married to Timo Kulczak for 11 years, is being sued in a German court for £69,000 after accusing him in her autobiography of controlling her finances and diet.
The writ said Ms Mabuse must publicly declare that claims Kulczak made her suffer during the marriage were untrue.
In Finding My Own Rhythm: My Story, she alleged that during their marriage, which ended in 2014, he paid her an allowance from her dance teaching and TV earnings, rejected her pleas to have a baby and controlled her diet.
The South African-born BBC star has refused to settle.
Now lawyers for the German dancer, 46, have added a “cease and desist” clause which claims she will face up to six months’ jail and fines of £252,000 if she ever repeats her allegations.
His lawyer Samy Hammad, said: “We want her to retract the untruths published about him and compensate him.”

A spokesman for Ms Mabuse said there was “no legal basis” for the lawsuit.
They added: “It is untrue our client faces imprisonment with regards to the civil lawsuit, or that a fine, payable if our client culpably violates a court order, would be
more than nominal.”
Ms Mabuse became a Strictly judge in 2019.
