The Exorcist star Ron Faber dies aged 90 as tributes pour in about his famous horror scene
The Exorcist actor, who played assistant director Chuck, Ron Faber has died from lung cancer at the age of 90.
Ron Faber has died from lung cancer at the age of 90, with his friend confirming the sad news.
Ron rose to fame after playing assistant director Chuck in the film Crash Course in hit horror movie The Exorcist.
The actor died on March 26 from the disease.
His death has only just been announced via Facebook by fellow actor David Patrick Kelly.
In a statement on the social media platform, David wrote: "Ron Faber has passed...first met him when I was a dishwasher/sub-bartender at the Mercer Arts Center.

"He was performing Arrabal's And They Put Handcuffs on the Flowers about political prisoners in fascist Spain for which he won an OBIE.
"We worked together a few years later in a workshop of Rado and Ragni's cartoon musical Tarzan in New York City."
He also said Ron was "one of the true knights of American avant theatre" and detailed how his work had influenced other actors over the years.
David added that the star was a "great artist and gentleman with a wonderful voice and laugh".

Ron’s most famous character was as the person who delivered the news that the Crash Course director had been found dead in 1973 horror The Exorcist.
In the iconic scene, no one else in the movie knew the director had actually been murdered by a woman possessed by a demon.
Alongside The Exorcist, Ron worked on Kojak, Law & Order, The Private Files of J Edgar Hoover and Navy Seals.
Fans rushed to pay tribute to Ron on Twitter, while remembering his best-known scene in the horror film.
"Scariest film I’ve seen is probably The Shining, although the Exorcist is not far behind. RIP Ron Faber," one fan wrote.
Another added: "Rest in peace blessings."
"RIP #RonFaber," a third Twitter user posted, alongside a GIF of a spooky scene from The Exorcist.
Ron is survived by wife Kathleen Moore Faber and his children Hart, Raymond (Sadia), Elise Manuel (Alex) and Anthony.
