Wife sues actress whose seductive role was no act
A HOLLYWOOD actress who often plays a seductress has been accused of wrecking the marriage of a US sports star.
In a legal first, Gabrielle Union, who stars in the Five TV series FlashForward, is being sued for using her acting skills to snare another man.
The ex-model, whose films include Bring It On and Bad Boys II, is caught in a divorce battle between basketball star Dwayne Wade, 28, and wife Siohvaughn with his £50million fortune at risk. Mrs Wade, who says her husband is neglecting their sons aged eight and two, has filed a lawsuit claiming: “The defendant has played sexually explicit roles, including roles as a seductress.
“The defendant has apparently decided to take her role beyond the films and into the home of a married man, Dwayne Wade, in the presence of his two children.”
US legal experts say it is the first time a Hollywood star has been accused of using her acting skills to cause offence. Wade and his wife have been separated for two years and she is seeking £30,000 in damages from Ms Union, 37.
Wade, who plays for Miami Heat, said: “I am deeply saddened that Siohvaughn is now lashing out at Gabrielle, an innocent party.” A spokesman for Ms Union said the allegations were false.
