GMB: Piers Morgan walks off after clash with Alex Beresford

Good Morning Britain star Alex Beresford, 40, was all smiles today as he shared a picture from his home on Instagram. The weather presenter’s latest post comes as Piers Morgan, 55, claimed he had received “nice messages” from his former co-stars expect Alex.

In view of his 142,000 followers, he wrote: “Probably shouldn’t have my trainers on this white rug!

“Anyway bless up yourselves on what looks like a grey Sunday.

“Remember the sun still rises and sets so beautifully some place in the world everyday.”

Alex’s post comes after Piers spoke out in detail for the first time since he quit Good Morning Britain.

The controversial presenter stepped down from his role after sparking over 51,000 Ofcom complaints for comments he made about Meghan Markle.

Piers said he had to “agree to disagree” with ITV as he refused to apologise for his remarks.

Ahead of his departure, he clashed with Alex over his views on Meghan and stormed off the set.

He returned minutes later to finish their discussion and went on to interview the Duchess of Sussex’s dad Thomas live on the show.

In his latest column with the Daily Mail online, Piers said he had received “nice messages” from his ex GMB colleagues apart from Alex.

“Some really moved me,” he admitted.

While he may not have heard from Alex personally, the latter wished Piers well on Twitter hours after he left the show.

He tweeted: “Piers' departure sincerely wasn't the conclusion I was hoping for.

“Over the past few years, Piers and I have had a lively, cheeky on-air relationship.

“We both wanted to be on the show Tuesday morning, and from our very public conversations on Twitter, we both knew how strongly our opinions differed on the treatment of Harry and Meghan pre and post the interview that has split the world."

He added: "I hoped we could reach a place of understanding. It's sad that we weren't able to get there, but challenging his opinion was not an outrage.

"On this occasion, we have to agree to disagree.

“I didn't want him to quit, but I did want him to listen.

"Personally, Piers has always supported my growth.

“He's given me advice on several occasions and for that I am grateful. I wish him well!"

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
