Michael Buble’s son, his eldest child with wife Luisana Lopilato, was diagnosed with liver cancer hepatoblastoma in October 2016. At the time, the Canadian singer described the health diagnosis as the “worst possible thing” he could go through as a parent. Now, his spouse has spoken out about the impact Noah’s health had on their family and admitted she learnt to push aside anything that makes her uncomfortable. Luisana, 32, told Argentinean magazine Gente, that she no longer worries about “silly things” and tries to not get “bogged down” with stress.
She told the publication: “We learnt to identify and establish priorities in my life and they changed completely. I don’t worry now about silly things, about malicious comments or conflicts.
“When I talk to my family I always tell them, ‘Don’t get bogged down with fights or stress. Don’t forget what we’ve got.’ Nothing is that important.”
She continued: “I’m not saying that nothing bothers me, just that there’s an enormous sign in my head that says ‘family.’
“I understood that I shouldn’t put up with something that makes me uncomfortable or suffer or I dislike.
“I ask myself, ‘Does this make me happy?’ and if it doesn’t I then push it aside.”
Noah is now in remission following his cancer diagnosis and Luisana said she was “immensely grateful” to God following the youngster’s fight against the disease.
At the time, Michael, 43, cancelled his tour after receiving the news that his son was unwell.
The Haven’t Met You Yet hitmaker admitted he wished he'd been diagnosed with cancer instead of his son.
"I'd much rather it'd have been me,” he said. "I wished that many times, I wished that it happened to me."
The couple share three children together - sons, Noah and three-year-old Elias and the latest addition, one-year-old daughter Vida Amber.
Meanwhile, Luisana has opened up about her relationship with Michael and admitted the pair do go through ups and downs.
“When I was younger and got annoyed about something, I could go two or three days without speaking to him or answering the phone,” the mum-of-three explained.
“He would go to bed beside me and I’d be like a freezer. I’m mellowing with age.”
She added: “Today I find it easier to get over any problem and now I don’t turn in for the night still in a bad mood.”
Michael and Luisana began dating in 2008 and got engaged the following year.
The couple tied the knot in 2011 in an intimate ceremony in Buenos Aires.
